Spouse of a French:
Conditions :
• If the foreigner holds a long-stay visa equivalent to a residence permit
- Application for a multi-year residence permit for the 2nd year of stay in France, for visa renewal
- Proof of community of life
• If the foreigner entered the territory without a long-stay visa
- Exceptionally, the temporary residence permit can be issued as a first permit
- The marriage must have been celebrated in France

By way of derogation from the family reunification procedure, applications for admission to stay of persons whose foreign spouse is regularly residing in France must be examined by the Prefect.
In this regard, a period of five years of presence in France and a period of 18 months of cohabitation of the couple may constitute relevant assessment criteria.
PARENTALITY
PARENTS OF A FRENCH CHILD OR A CHILD IN SCHOOL
Parent of a French child:
Conditions :
• Be the parent of a French minor child residing in France
• Contribute to the maintenance and education of the child from birth or at least 2 years
Parent of a child in school:
If you do not meet the conditions to obtain a temporary private and family life residence permit but have strong ties to France, in particular through the presence of your children in school, you may be admitted to the stay.

DISEASE
SICK STRANGER
The sick foreigner:
Conditions :
• Usually reside in France
• State of health requires medical care without which the health of the foreigner would be very seriously compromised
• No access to appropriate treatment in their country of origin
• Do not represent a threat to public order

• Withdraw a medical certificate to be completed by the attending physician
• Any information allowing the investigation of the file
• Send file to OFII, which issues an opinion

THE MINORITY
Isolated foreign minor:
A foreign minor taken in by the ASE can obtain, subject to conditions, a residence permit.
Conditions :
• If the minor is taken in before the age of 16, the Prefect checks:
- Training followed
- Nature of ties with family remaining in the country of origin
- Opinion of the reception structure
• If the minor is taken in between the ages of 16 and 18, this is an exceptional regularization, and not an automatic right:
- An employee or temporary worker card, if he has been undergoing qualifying vocational training for less than 6 months.
- A student card if he is pursuing secondary or university studies.
VISITORS
This residence permit is issued to people who wish to stay in France for a period of more than 3 months, as inactive.
Conditions :
• Hold a long-stay visa
• Apply for the card within two months of the visa expiration date
• Resource condition
• Commitment not to work in France
• Valid for 1 year, renewable
